Launch Event: Friday 29th June, 7.30 - 9pm
At The Exchange we present New Dream Machine Project, a large-scale kinetic light sculpture, referencing the original Dream Machine, created by Brion Gysin (who was at the centre of the Tangiers counter culture in the 1960s), and conceived to have an effect on the viewer similar to deep sleep or meditation. Alongside one of the artist’s neon sculptures will be Trailer, a 15-minute gallery edit of Dawood’s feature-length film Piercing Brightness, that subverts sci-fi genres and addresses issues of race and migration.
